Improving access to dental care

Our Mission

DentaMed Healthcare was set up in 2016 to provide dental services to underserved populations in the Milwaukee area and beyond. Our goal is to promote general health by improving access to dental care, recognizing that oral health contributes to an individual’s overall health and well-being. DentaMed Healthcare has also established partnerships with other organizations, using traditional and innovative strategies to improve access to oral health for school children and communities in the area.

About DentaMed Healthcare

Since the beginning of 2017, DentaMed has operated a mobile school-based dental program in partnership with Wisconsin Seal-a-Smile and the Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin. During this time, DentaMed provided preventive dental services such as oral health education, screening, dental sealants, cleaning, and fluoride varnish treatments to more than 5,000 school children around the Milwaukee, St. Francis, Oak Creek and Racine areas.

Under an arrangement with United Healthcare, we are currently in the process of expanding our operations to include a new, state-of-the-art mobile dental van that will be manned by a team of dentists, registered dental hygienists and dental assistants. This will give us the ability to provide more comprehensive dental care to more schools and communities in the area, including Elementary, Middle and High Schools. This mobile dental van initiative means that students can be provided with extractions and fillings right on their school campuses, rather than being taken to dental clinics for appointments. This will ultimately lead to fewer missed school days for dental appointments and parents will no longer need to take valuable time off work to take their children to the dentist!
